In ancient Mesoamerican agriculture the Chinampa was a small man-made artificial island called 'a floating garden' where crops where grown on the surface of a lake. This lovely "Chinampa" plant bed design looks as if it is floating above the fish tank aquarium. The supporting plant bed beam has an underside light that accents the aquarium. The plant light above is adjustable to move with the plants growth. Built to give plenty of room on either side to access the fish. The aquarium sits on top of a sturdy wooden platform that has a shelf in the back to hide the electrical outlet. Easy to assemble and disassemble..
Plant bed comes in 2 styles, oblong and rectangular. Price includes electric outlet and timer, pump, light & stand, plant bed, aquarium, growstones, instructional manual, and grow kit. Unit is $200 if you don't need the plant light and stand! Please inquire for additional details.

This simple yet elegant Aquaponic unit was named after the organization Growingchange.org that commissioned this design for their students. The system was designed to be easily assembled and disassembled so that they could travel with it and set it up in various classrooms for demonstration. The plant bed sits on top of a wooden table and the drain and pump inlet tube is combined so that no plumbing lines show from the outside. The side of the plant bed is clear for visual inspection of the plant root system. The optional plant light stand fits snugly around the plant bed and can be moved upward as the plants grow. Under the table is a string of LED lights that can be turned on with an electrical switch for easy aquarium viewing below. The aquarium sits on top of a sturdy wooden platform that has a shelf in the back to hide the electrical outlet and can be used to help lift up the aquarium for transport. the aquarium is easily accessed from the top. It can be easily disassembled by removing the outlet tubes at the top and slipping the pump and stand-up pipe out from under plant bed and tabletop.
